Our Story

Not exactly a classic love story—we met in medical school. First as study buddies, holding each other through some of the most rigorous and defining moments of our lives. Learning medicine side by side became a kind of knowing: a deep friendship that slowly, inevitably, grew into love.

Together, we navigated lectures, exams, and 11 moves for clinical rotations (with our three cats always along for the ride), and eventually residency—long hours, steep learning curves, and the emotional weight of caring for patients. Through it all, there was always each other. Our relationship was built on friendship, unwavering support, and a shared understanding of the world we were stepping into.

After the election in 2024, amid growing uncertainty around queer rights, we made the decision to get legally married sooner than planned. On November 24, 2024, we held an intimate ceremony at Cape Alava, near Sophie’s hometown—just the two of us and the ocean—quietly affirming our commitment to one another.

But something has always felt unfinished. We’ve been shaped and supported by an incredible community, and it’s always been our intention to celebrate this moment surrounded by all of you.

Now, we finally get to do that—and we can’t wait to celebrate together.
